Detailed explanation-1: -The large intestine is the long, thick lowermost part of the digestive system which is about 5 feet in length. It takes several hours for food to reach the large intestine through the digestive tract. The minerals and water from the remaining food, that is left undigested, are absorbed in the large intestine.
