Detailed explanation-1: -Inside of the classroom, media multitasking is negatively associated with GPA, test performance, information recall, comprehension, and note-taking, especially when students multitask to engage in off task activities. These effects are not mediated by achievement level and negatively impact non-multitasking peers.
Detailed explanation-2: -In many cases, media multitasking is made up of experiences that are not necessarily intended to be combined or coordinated. For example, a user may be browsing the Web, listening to music, playing video games, using e-mail, and/or talking on the phone while watching TV.
Detailed explanation-3: -Media multitasking has been shown to negatively impact the quality of learning, with speed, accuracy, and depth of learning all reduced in quality when students attempted to multitask.
Detailed explanation-4: -Among adolescents, media-multitasking has been increasing rapidly. It is estimated that on average American youths aged 8–18 years spend approximately 10 h a day using technology. Of this time, 29% is spent engaged in media-multitasking, e.g., playing online games while instant messaging.
