Detailed explanation-1: -Paul V. Mockapetris (born 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts, US) is an American computer scientist and Internet pioneer, who invented the Internet Domain Name System (DNS).
Detailed explanation-2: -November 1983 – The rapid growth of the internet caused massive problems in bookkeeping. To deal with this problem a group including Jon Postel, Paul Mockapetris and Craig Partrige published RFC 882 which created the domain name system (DNS) to make Internet navigation easier.
Detailed explanation-3: -Mockapetris instead created the Domain Name System in 1983 while at the University of Southern California. The Internet Engineering Task Force published the original specifications in RFC 882 and RFC 883 in November 1983. These were updated in RFC 973 in January 1986.
Detailed explanation-4: -The DNS was created in 1983 and became one of the original Internet Standards in 1986 (After the creation of the Internet Engineering Task Force IETF). The two documents that marked the start are RFC 1034 and RFC 1035. They describe the whole protocol functionality and include data types that it can carry.
