Detailed explanation-1: -Bali, Indonesia – A vicious cycle of climate change and deforestation could wipe out or severely damage nearly 60% of the Amazon forest by 2030, says WWF.

Detailed explanation-2: -Since the 1970s around 18 percent of the Amazon rainforest has been destroyed. Since 1998 an average of 10, 000 acres of rainforest cover has been destroyed every day. In 2021 alone 4.8 million acres of the Amazon rainforest were lost.

Detailed explanation-3: -If these factors were taken into account, we could face a dire scenario in which current trends in livestock, agriculture, logging expansion, fire and drought could destroy or severely damage 55% of the Amazon rainforest by the year 2030 (Nepstad 2008).

Detailed explanation-4: -Researchers say deforestation has caused the Amazon to absorb less than half as much carbon dioxide as it did twenty years ago. The forest is also vulnerable to outside forces. Rising temperatures are causing parts of the Amazon to dry out. Desiccated trees absorb less carbon dioxide and are more susceptible to fires.
