Detailed explanation-1: -’Nari Shakti Puraskar-2015’ conferred on 22 Institutions/Individuals by the President. The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee conferred the ‘Nari Shakti Puraskar-2015’on the occasion of International Women’s Day today.

Detailed explanation-2: -Twenty-eight awards-14 each for 2020 and 2021-were given to 29 women in recognition of their exceptional work towards women empowerment, especially the vulnerable and the marginalised communities..

Detailed explanation-3: -The Stree Shakti Puraskar Awards were established in 1999, and in 2015, they underwent a name change and organisational overhaul. There are six institutional categories and two individual categories, each with a cash award of Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh.

Detailed explanation-4: -Nari Shakti Puraskar 2022 will be conferred by the Ministry of Women and Child Development on the occasion of International Women’s Day i.e 8th March, 2023 to individuals in recognition of their service towards the cause of women empowerment, especially vulnerable and marginalized women.

Detailed explanation-5: -The Nari Shakti Puruskar may be awarded for outstanding work, preferably in exceptional circumstances, to-individuaIs/ groups / institutions / NGOs, etc. in the areas of: economic and social empowerment of women or pertaining to this theme or incidental thereto.
