Detailed explanation-1: -On 16 December 2015, the apex court barred the registration of diesel vehicles with engines bigger than 2, 000cc in Delhi-NCR until 31 March.

Detailed explanation-2: -BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel cars have been temporarily banned in Delhi due to rise in air pollution. The Delhi government took the decision to bam these cars on Monday based on the directions provided under Stage-III of the revised GRAP and under Section 115 of Motor Vehicle Act.

Detailed explanation-3: -10 year old diesel cars still banned To ensure that this rule is strictly followed, all the registering authorities and RTO offices in New Delhi can issue a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the transfer of such older vehicles to other states, where this rule is not in effect as of now.
