Detailed explanation-2: -The retirement age for central government employees was last revised in May 1998, when it was moved up from 58 to 60 years. The corresponding age in the private sector has largely been in the 58 to 62 year-band.

Detailed explanation-3: -Notably, at present the retirement age of government employees is 62 years, but after the proposal is passed by the government, the retirement age will increase to 63 years. This is the second time in five years, when the retirement age is being increased.
