Detailed explanation-1: -IMD to use supercomputer to forecast monsoon based on dynamical model. The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) has announced that India Meteorological Department (IMD) will use supercomputer to forecast India’s annual summer monsoon.

Detailed explanation-2: -The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday updated the forecast for 2022 southwest monsoon to 103 per cent of the Long Period Average (LPA), from 99 per cent of LPA predicted in April as La Niña conditions are expected to prevail during the entire stretch of the four-month monsoon season.

Detailed explanation-3: -Now, IMD has prepared the forecast outlook for the month of July 2022 of Southwest monsoon season. The rainfall averaged over the country as a whole during July 2022 is most likely to be normal (94 to 106 % of LPA).
