Detailed explanation-1: -"The Supreme Court collegium in its meeting held on January 10, 2023 has, on reconsideration, resolved to reiterate its earlier recommendation for the elevation of Shri Nagendra Ramachandra Naik, Advocate, as Judge in the Karnataka High Court, ” the resolution stated.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Collegium proposed Justice T.S. Sivagnanam as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court upon the retirement of the incumbent, Justice Prakash Shrivastava, on March 30, 2023. Justice Sivagnanam is currently the seniormost puisne judge in the Calcutta High Court. His parent High Court is Madras.

Detailed explanation-3: -The two-tiered collegiums are a 25-year-old system through which judges of the Supreme Court appoint judges to the apex court and high courts. At present, the collegium comprises CJI Chandrachud, and Justices S.K. Kaul, K.M. Joseph, M.R. Shah, Ajay Rastogi and Sanjiv Khanna.
