Detailed explanation-1: -Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to approve sewage and waste water policy. The first of its kind policy was approved by the State Cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in Jaipur.

Detailed explanation-2: -According to estimates, about 80% of the sewage in India flows into rivers, lakes and ponds. This sewage is untreated and pollutes water bodies. It also often seeps underground, which is a cause of concern, since drinking water is primarily sourced from groundwater.

Detailed explanation-3: -All this waste makes its way through the drains into the septic tank, where dense matter settles at the bottom of the tank while liquid goes into the soak away pit from where it percolates into the soil. The sewer pipes running out of homes and offices also gather other kinds of waste along the way.
