Detailed explanation-2: -In 1986, the Consumer Protection Bill was passed by both the Houses of Parliament. The bill received the assent of the President on December 24, 1986, and came into force. Thus, to commemorate the importance of the day, December 24 is marked as National Consumer Day.

Detailed explanation-3: -Every year 15th March is celebrated as the World Consumer Rights Day. World Consumer Rights Day was inspired by President John F Kennedy, who sent a special message to the US Congress on 15th March 1962, in which he formally addressed the issue of consumer rights.
