Detailed explanation-1: -FASTags to be mandatory on all four-wheelers, irrespective of year of manufacture.

Detailed explanation-2: -Yes, the MoRTH has made FASTags mandatory for all four-wheelers in the country from February 15, 2021.

Detailed explanation-3: -Your payment is deducted from your FASTag wallet or bank account. So, if you have just bought a car, getting a FASTag is a good idea. In fact, post February 16th 2021 onwards, it is compulsory to have one. If you don’t, you are liable to pay double the toll amount.

Detailed explanation-4: -Since 16th February 2021, all four-wheelers have to mandatorily get the tag fitted on their vehicles. The FASTag is operated by 35 different banks, which are governed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Detailed explanation-5: -Only one FASTag can be issued against a particular vehicle at any given point of time. Hence, you cannot use one FASTag for multiple vehicles. If you own more than one car, you have to purchase one tag for each vehicle.
