Detailed explanation-1: -Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said the Union government has saved ₹ 2, 00, 000 crore by using technology as systems like Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) stopped leakages.

Detailed explanation-2: -Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) was launched by the Government of India in January, 2013. Here the money will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries of various Government schemes.

Detailed explanation-3: -Government of India launched the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Program on 1st Jan 2013 to directly transfer the benefits to the under-privileged population covered under 34 central schemes.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Government of India initially launched the DBT/Direct Benefit Transfer program for 34 central schemes. With the DBT program, the GOI targets to make payments of the subsidies directly to the beneficiaries. This helped in removing any malpractices such as diversions and duplicate payments.
