Detailed explanation-1: -A mobile application (SwachhApp) has been developed for tracking the current sanitation status up to village level along with details of beneficiaries. Mobile App is used for tracking real time sanitation coverage in percentage, number of open defecation free villages, and list of beneficiaries in each village.

Detailed explanation-2: -The mission aims to cover 10.4 million households by providing 0.25 million community toilets, 0.26 million public toilets and a solid waste management facility in each town. Under the programme, community toilets are built in residential areas where it is difficult to construct individual household toilets.

Detailed explanation-3: -It is a restructured version of the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan launched in 2009 that failed to achieve its intended targets. One step towards cleanliness. Phase 1 of the Swachh Bharat Mission lasted till October 2019. Phase 2 is being implemented between 2020–21 and 2024–25 to help cement the work of Phase 1.
