Detailed explanation-1: -The window for application under e-visa has been increased from 30 days to 120 days. Duration of stay in India under e-Visa has been increased from the existing 30 days to 60 days.

Detailed explanation-2: -e-visa will be granted for a period up to 60 days with double entry on e-Tourist Visa and e-Business Visa and triple entry on e-Medical Visa. In the case of e-Medical Visa, extension may be granted up to 6 months on case to case basis on merits of each case by the FRRO/ FRO concerned.

Detailed explanation-3: -Tourist visas are granted for 3 months, 6 months to 1 year with single, double or multiple entries. Irrespective of the visa validity, maximum period of stay in India is limited to 180 days only.

Detailed explanation-4: -No other activity is permissible on a Tourist Visa. The Tourist Visa is non–extendable ad non-convertible. In case of long duration tourist visa over a period of six months the maximum period of stay in India for each visit is limited to 6 months only.
