Detailed explanation-1: -The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOP&NG) is responsible for the exploration, production, refining, distribution, marketing, import, export, and conservation of petroleum, natural gas, petroleum products, and liquefied natural gas in India.

Detailed explanation-2: -Rajasthan is the largest producer of petroleum in India followed by Gujarat and Assam. Rajasthan has a share of about 23.29% in crude oil production in the country. In India, oil is found in Assam, Gujarat, Mumbai High and in the river basins of Godavari and Krishna.
