Detailed explanation-1: -UPSC Mains. Notes: India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) between Delhi and Meerut, is being designed by global mobility provider Alstom in Hyderabad and manufactured in Savli, Gujarat.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is the first RRTS corridor to be implemented in India. Multi-Modal Integration: RRTS stations will be integrated with various modes of transport like Airports, Railway Stations, Inter-State Bus Terminals, Delhi Metro Stations etc.

Detailed explanation-3: -New Delhi: The first train set of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) arrived at the Duhai depot in Ghaziabad on Monday from Savli in Gujarat, an official statement said. This train set was loaded on a trailer from the Alstom manufacturing plant in Savli in Gujarat on June 2 and reached Duhai via road.

Detailed explanation-4: -The project is currently in the construction stage, with work first beginning on the 82.15 km Delhi – Ghaziabad – Meerut RRTS Line. Out of this, the 17 km Sahibabad – Ghaziabad – Guldhar – Duhai section has been prioritized, and is expected to open in 2023.
