Detailed explanation-1: -POWERGRID has been adjudged First by Ministry of Power, Government of India among all the CPSEs in Power Sector for its exemplary performance during the observation of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), with the aim of maintaining cleanliness at tourist destinations across the country has observed awareness campaign on cleanliness by undertaking a fortnightly awareness drive called “Swachhta Pakhwada”.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Swachh Bharat Mission – Gramin (SBM-G) programme, under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, is a flagship programme of the Government of India. The e-Governance application used for its monitoring has been developed in-house by NIC under the guidance of the SBM-G programme division.

Detailed explanation-4: -In rural areas “SBM-Gramin” was financed and monitored through the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (since converted to the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti) whereas “SBM-urban” was overseen by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Detailed explanation-5: -SBM is being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (M/o HUA) and by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (M/o DWS) for urban and rural areas respectively. These guidelines are for the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
