Detailed explanation-1: -KOLKATA: Tata Steel has set up India’s largest Coke Dry Quenching (CDQ) facility at its state-of-the-art greenfield steel plant located at the Kalinganagar, Odisha. CDQ is a heat recovery system to cool the hot coke from coke ovens.

Detailed explanation-2: -Coke Dry Quenching (CDQ) is a heat recovery system to quench red hot coke from a coke oven to a temperature appropriate for transportation. It is an energy saving system in which, during quenching process, sensible heat of the red hot coke is recovered and utilized for power generation or as steam.
