Detailed explanation-1: -The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind gave away the National Child Awards 2017 on the occasion of Children’s Day in New Delhi today. The Awards were given in the presence of Minister of State for Women & Child Development, Dr. Virendra Kumar.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) is awarded to children in the age group of 5-18 years for their exceptional performance which deserve national recognition. The six categories for which they are given are art and culture, bravery, innovation, scholastic, social service and sports.

Droupadi Murmu conferred the “Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar” instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India on 11 exceptional children today. Detailed explanation-4: -Children between the age of 4 to 15 years who have shown in exceptional achievement in any field including academics, arts and culture and sports etc. will be considered for this Award. One Gold Medal and 35 Silver Medals (one for each State/U.T) are to be given annually.

Detailed explanation-5: -She was honoured by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (India), by conferring her the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement in 2008. The award was presented to her by Sonia Gandhi in a function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 5 January 2009.
