Detailed explanation-1: -The museum is located at the Teen Murti Avenue earlier known as Nehru Memorial Museum and Library with renovated buildings and newly redeveloped new galleries. The Museum has two main buildings and each building has a reception at entrance.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Nehru Memorial Museum, a legacy of the Nehru-Gandhi family, has been expanded as ‘Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya’ to showcase the life and times of not only the first PM, Jawaharlal Nehru, but all his successors. Built at Teen Murti Estate, PM Museum is brainchild of the current incumbent, PM Narendra Modi.

Detailed explanation-3: -It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister (and Nehru’s daughter), Indira Gandhi, on 6 February 1984.
