Detailed explanation-1: -As per the visa manual, tourist visa can be converted to X2 visa only when the marriage takes place in India and gets registered within the validity of the present tourist visa.

Detailed explanation-2: -Any foreign national staying in India for thirty days can validly marry in Indian under Special Marriage Act, so says the Act. The marriage has to be registered at the place of residence of Indian. A copy of valid passport and visa is additional document of foreign national that have to be enclosed.

Detailed explanation-3: -Every NRI who marries a citizen of India or another NRI must get his marriage registered within 30 days. If the marriage occurs outside India, it must be registered with a Marriage Officer, who will be appointed from among the diplomatic officers in a foreign country.

Detailed explanation-4: -15. Validity of foreign marriages in India. -Subject to the other provisions contained in this Act, a marriage solemnized in the manner provided in this Act shall be good and valid in law.
