Detailed explanation-1: -In May 2020, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the last date of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme for the MIG-1 and MIG-2 categories had been extended till March 31, 2021. For the LIG and EWS categories, however, the last date is March 31, 2022.

Detailed explanation-2: -Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was launched with the aim to provide housing at an affordable price to the weaker sections of the society, lower income group people, urban poor, and rural poor. The Yojana involves a construction of around 20 million houses at an affordable price.

Detailed explanation-3: -Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), a flagship Mission of Government of India being implemented by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), was launched on 25th June 2015.
