Detailed explanation-1: -The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today presented the National Bravery Awards to 18 children. Three of these awards were presented posthumously. Interacting with the awardees, the Prime Minister said their deeds of bravery are discussed extensively, and also highlighted by the media.

Detailed explanation-2: -There are 15 Boys and 14 Girls among the awardees belonging to 21 States and UTs. In view of the unprecedented circumstances emerging due to COVID-19 situation in the country, it was not possible to organise a physical ceremony at New Delhi.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Malayali kids bagged awards under the categories Bharat, Markandeya, Prahalada, Eklavya, Abhimanyu, Sravan, Druva and general. As many as 22 children in 2020, 16 children in 2021 and 18 children in 2022 have won the bravery awards in the nation.

Detailed explanation-4: -Three children from the State have bagged the National Bravery Awards for 2022. Ahmed Fas and Mohammed Irfan from Malappuram and Nihad from Kozhikode have received the awards given away by the Indian Council for Child Welfare. Ahmed Fas and Mohammed Irfan have bagged the Prahlad award.

Detailed explanation-5: -Thiruvananthapuram: Five children from Kerala have bagged the National Bravery Award. Angel Maria John (Ekalavya Award - Rs 75,000), TN Shanis Abdulla (Abhimanyu award - Rs 75,000), and KN Shivakrishnan, K Sheethal Shashi and N Rithujith (General Award - Rs 40,000) have been selected for the prestigious award.
