Detailed explanation-1: -The world’s first International Centre for Humanitarian Forensics was launched in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The centre is joint venture of Regional delegation of International Committee of Red Cross (ICCR) in India, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives and also Gujarat Forensic Science University.

Detailed explanation-2: -The world’s first International Centre for Humanitarian Forensics was launched at Gandhinagar in Gujarat on June 20, 2018. It is a joint venture of the Regional delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in India, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives and also Gujarat Forensic Science University.

Detailed explanation-3: -The first state forensic science laboratory in India was established in the year 1952 at Calcutta. This laboratory became fully operational in the year 1953. The Medico-legal Section of the Chemical Examiner’s Laboratory was also transferred to this laboratory.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah addressed the First convocation of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar today. He also inaugurated various facilities at the NFSU campus.

Detailed explanation-5: -More such laboratories were set up at Calcutta (1853), at Agra (1864) and at Bombay (1870). Later on, it was felt to keep record of anthropometric identification of criminals and Anthropometric Bureau was established in 1892 at Calcutta.
