Detailed explanation-1: -The Philippines will be the first country to receive BrahMos missiles jointly developed by India and Russia.

Detailed explanation-2: -BrahMos is a joint venture between the DRDO and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya and the missile derives its name from Brahmaputra and Moskva rivers. The missile is capable of being launched from land, sea, sub-sea and air against surface and sea-based targets and has been long inducted by the Indian armed forces.

It has sealed the deal for the shore based anti-ship variant supersonic cruise missiles. And it became the first country where India exported the BrahMos missile which has been made under an Indo-Russian Joint Venture.

Detailed explanation-4: -In January this year, India inked a $375 million deal with the Philippines to provide the BrahMos cruise missile to the country’s navy.
