Detailed explanation-1: -Wage Compensation Scheme for Pregnant Women in Assam tea gardens. Assam government today will launch a wage compensation scheme for pregnant women in tea gardens of the state with the goal of providing better health and nutrition supplements to the pregnant women.

Detailed explanation-2: -Pregnant women who are residents of Assam and who work on tea garderns. The pregnant women may be Temporary worker, permanent worker or non-worker – all are eligible. Two child norms of Government of Assam will be applicable.

Detailed explanation-3: -Under the scheme a cash benefit of Rupees 12,000 is provided to each pregnant woman of tea garden areas in four instalments so that she can better look after herself and her unborn baby without compromising the livelihood of her family. All pregnant women residing in Tea garden areas are eligible for the scheme.

Detailed explanation-4: -1400/- if delivered at Public Health Facility or Accredited Private Hospital. All mothers from Urban Area irrespective of age, birth order, or income group (BPL & APL) will get a cash assistance of Rs. 1000/- if delivered at Public Health Facility or Accredited Private Hospital.

Detailed explanation-5: -The interim minimum wages for small tea garden workers will also be pegged at ₹232 per day in Brahmaputra Valley and ₹210/- per day in Barak Valley in Assam.
