Detailed explanation-1: -The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved establishment of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Darbhanga, Bihar.

Detailed explanation-2: -On September 15, 2020, the Union cabinet had granted approval to Bihar’s second AIIMS at Darbhanga, after the one in Patna, to be built within four years at a cost of ₹1, 264 crore on 200 acres of land belonging to the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Detailed explanation-3: -There are now 19 AIIMS in India that are operational as of January 2022. By the end of 2025, five additional AIIMS are anticipated to open in India. According to the National Institute of Ranking Framework, the AIIMS in New Delhi is the best of all the AIIMS institutions in India (NIRF).

Detailed explanation-4: -AIIMS Bathinda started operation in 2019. AIIMS Bilaspur, AIIMS Guwahati and AIIMS Vijaypur became operational in 2020.
