Detailed explanation-1: -The Nagaland government has declared the Singphan Wildlife Sanctuary as an elephant reserve making it the 30th reserve for the elephant in the country. The declaration of the Singphan Elephant Reserve in Nagaland will boost the elephant conservation in the country, especially in the northeastern region.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Singphan Elephant Reserve is the 30th Elephant reserve in the country and it is the important Reserve in the North Eastern States as it is a huge tract of forest, strategically located in contiguity with the Abhaypur Reserve Forest of Assam, frequented by the moving herds of elephants.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Indian subspecies have the largest range and make up the majority of the remaining elephants on the continent. Global Population: Estimated 20,000–40,000. There are over 28,000 elephants in India, with about 25% of them living in Karnataka.

Detailed explanation-4: -Tamil Nadu and Assam have the highest number of elephant reserves with five each in both the states followed by four in Kerala, three in Odisha, two each in Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Nagaland and West Bengal, and one each in Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Uttarakhand.
