Detailed explanation-1: -Reserve Bank of India (RBI) auditors have found that the country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), under-reported its non-performing assets (NPAs) for 2018-19 by Rs 11,932 crore, and made Rs 12,036 crore less provisions.

Detailed explanation-2: -But as at the end of 2022, this was 7.6% , a drastic reduction by any reckoning. After taking into account the provisions held for these bad loans, this ratio (known as net NPAs) had declined to 2.3% at the end of March 2022 from 8.6% in March 2018.

Detailed explanation-3: -CASA deposits registered a sustained growth of 7.21% YoY in FY18. CASA Ratio up 128 bps YoY to 45.68% as on 31st Mar 18. Daily average CASA was at 44.29%. Retail Term Deposits grew by 3.15% YoY in FY18.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Gross NPA ratio of large borrowers declined to 6.4% in September 2022 from 10% in March 2021.
