Detailed explanation-1: -Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Vajra’ commissioned formally into service on March 24th 2021. It is the 6th offshore patrol vessel to enhance coastal security. ICGS Vajra is the sixth in the series of seven Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).

Detailed explanation-2: -Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Saksham is the 5th and last Offshore Patrol Vessel designed and developed by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) for Coast Guard.

Detailed explanation-3: -India’s Goa Shipyard Ltd delivered the 5th and final vessel of the 5 Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vehicle (CGOPV) Project ahead of contractual schedule. The vessel was named ICGS ‘Saksham’. The point to be underlined- all 5 vessels have been delivered before time to the Indian Coast Guard.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Samarth-class offshore patrol vessel are a series of eleven offshore patrol vessels being built by Goa Shipyard Limited for the Indian Coast Guard. The construction of Samarth class was motivated by a desire to triple the Coast Guard assets in the aftermath of 2008 Mumbai attacks.
