Detailed explanation-1: -India’s deepest shaft cave Krem Um Ladaw has been discovered in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district. The cave has a 105 m deep shaft entrance passage. This comes a year after the world’s longest sandstone cave Krem Puri was discovered in Meghalaya.

Detailed explanation-2: -Barely a year after the discovery of the world’s longest sandstone cave Krem Puri in Mawsynram region of Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district, now a cave with the deepest shaft in the country has been discovered.

Detailed explanation-3: -Meghalaya’s caves have begun to attract explorers from all over the world. The hills are home to India’s longest general cave - the 31.1km-long Liat Prah limestone cave system. Many of them are huge, and carry deep rivers. The deepest cave - the range from the highest point in the cave to the lowest - is 317m.

Detailed explanation-4: -According to cave diver and CDAA life member Peter “Puddles” Horne, the cave is believed to have been discovered in the late 1930s when a plough-horse stumbled after putting its hoof through the small, dirt-filled tube entrance.

Detailed explanation-5: -Although Meghalaya is already a destination which is famous for its huge network of caves, Krem Puri is an underground cavern, which is as much as 6,000 m longer than the Cueva Del Saman in Edo Zulia, Venezuela, which used to be the longest sandstone cave in the world earlier. Its length is 18,200 m.
