Detailed explanation-1: -Ashok Leyland Ltd has become the first Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to meet the BS-VI emission norms.

Detailed explanation-2: -Under the BS-VI fuel, for 1 KM, a car will emit 80% less PM and almost 70% less nitrogen oxide (in a diesel engine). In a petrol engine, the emission of nitrogen oxide would be less by 25%.

Detailed explanation-3: -BS VI or Bharat Stage VI is the latest emission legislations implemented by Indian Government that came into effect from April 1, 2020. With this implementation, the Indian Government has regulated the amount of pollutants coming out of the exhaust of vehicles.

Detailed explanation-4: -The central government has mandated that vehicle makers must manufacture, sell and register only BS-VI (BS6) vehicles from April 1, 2020. The first emission norms were introduced in India in 1991 for petrol and in 1992 for diesel vehicles.
