Detailed explanation-1: -Papikonda National Park is a national park in India, located near Rajamahendravaram in the Papi Hills of the Alluri Sitharama Raju and Eluru districts of Andhra Pradesh, and covering an area of 1,012.86 km2 (391.07 sq mi).

Detailed explanation-2: -The area plays a key role in high precipitation and the consequent origin of various small streams and rivulets which drain and enrich the perennial River Godavari.

Detailed explanation-3: -Papikonda National Park (PNP), with a dominant area covered with moist deciduous forest, has become home for the leopard cat ( Prinailurus bengalensis ) in the Eastern Ghats. The 1,012.86 sq km national park is on both sides of river Godavari in the northern Eastern Ghats.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1978. The Sanctuary’s total area is approximately 591 km2. In 2008, the Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary was designated as a National Park.
