Detailed explanation-1: -Pinaka (from Sanskrit: , see Pinaka) is a multiple rocket launcher produced in India and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the Indian Army.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Pinaka extended range is developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization, DRDO, and is produced by a private sector firm. The trials were conducted in the presence of Army officials and DRDO officials.

Detailed explanation-3: -After successful tests of Pinaka Mark-1 in late 1990, it was first used in the battlefield during the Kargil war of 1999, quite successfully. Subsequently, multiple regiments of the system came up in the 2000s.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Pinaka rocket system has been developed by Armament Research and Development Establishment, Pune supported by High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, another Pune-based laboratory of DRDO. The EPRS is the upgraded version of Pinaka variant which has been in service with the Indian Army for the last decade.
