Detailed explanation-1: -MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank has constituted a high-level committee under IBA chief executive V G Kannan to examine ATM charges and fees by banks amid demands for reviewing the levies.
Detailed explanation-2: -1.5 In order to address these, RBI has constituted a Committee to Review the ATM Interchange Fee Structure involving all stakeholders, under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive, Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), to examine the entire gamut of ATM charges and fees.
Detailed explanation-3: -Allow increase in interchange fee per transaction from ₹15 to ₹17 for financial transactions and from ₹5 to ₹6 for non-financial transactions in all centres. This shall be effective from August 1, 2021.
