Detailed explanation-1: -Air India is all set to impose a ban on 1st use plastic products like bags, cups and straws from 2nd October 2019. For the first phase, the ban will be implemented on all flights of Air India Express and Alliance air flights.

Detailed explanation-2: -Air India, India’s national airline, will ban the usage of single-use plastic aboard its flights from October 2, 2019.

Detailed explanation-3: -In the second phase, the single-use plastic will be banned in all Air India flights, it said. In his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged people to shun single-use plastic and encouraged usage of jute and cloth bags to protect the environment.
