Detailed explanation-1: -Bihar- Bihar accounts for 40 percent of the National production. It is grown largely in the districts of Muzaffarpur which is the litchi bowl of India, Vaishali, Samastipur, and East Champaran falls under the same districts for Litchi cultivation.

Detailed explanation-2: -It is grown in the states of Bihar, Tripura, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Of the total production of lychee in India, 74 percent is contributed by Bihar. The second largest lychee producing state is West Bengal followed by Tripura and Assam (Table 2).

Detailed explanation-3: -India is the second largest producer of litchi in the World after China. Other major producing countries are Thailand, Australia, South Africa, Madagascar and Florida in US.
