Detailed explanation-1: -News. Union Water Resources Ministry has signed an agreement with the CMs of Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for the construction of a Renukaji multipurpose dam project.

Detailed explanation-2: -Ravi S Singh Six states–Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh–on Friday signed an agreement for construction of Renukaji Dam Multi-Purpose Project in the presence of Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Detailed explanation-3: -Water benefit shall be shared among six states – Delhi, Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and HP as per MoU, 1994 regarding “Allocation of Surface Flow of Yamuna”.

Detailed explanation-4: -“The construction for the project is expected to start by December 2022 and will be completed in six years. The project will provide approximately 13.14 lakh man days of work. In line with the resettlement and rehabilitation policy, programmes to enhance the employability of the local youth will also be conducted.

Detailed explanation-5: -Built on the Giri river, a tributary of the Yamuna, the Renukaji dam site is near Dadahu in Himachal Pradesh, 250 kilometres from Delhi.
