Detailed explanation-1: -The government of Odisha announced a hike of Rs 200 per month in the social security pension under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY).

Detailed explanation-2: -All the beneficiaries being covered under State Old Age Pension Scheme and the Odisha Disability Pension Scheme in the State at present will be treated as beneficiaries under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana from the date it come into force.

Detailed explanation-3: -In January 2008, State Government merged two old schemes, namely, Revised Old Age Pension Rules, 1989 Et Disability Pension Rules, 1985 and introduced the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Rules, 2008.

Detailed explanation-4: -For persons below poverty line and above the age of 60 years, a monthly pension of Rs. 500 is provided until the age of 79 years and Rs. 700 thereafter.
