Detailed explanation-1: -Pune: The Ammunition Factory at Khadki has made a 40 mm Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) for the Border Security Force . All components for this UBGL were secured from Indian industries making it completely Atma Nirbhar. This ammunition is fired from a launcher fitted under the barrel of 5.56 mm Rifle (INSAS).

Detailed explanation-2: -The ammunition fired by the UBGL is similar to the Milkor MGL used by the Indian Army, allowing for standardisation. The UBGL’s can be equipped with Air Burst rounds for enhanced lethality. These rounds uses programmable electronic fuse for detonation and has self destructive capabilities in case of missing the target.
