Detailed explanation-1: -First 12000 HP made in India Locomotive, manufactured by Madhepura Electric Loco Factory situated in Bihar, was put into operation by Indian Railways from Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn Station yesterday. The loco is named WAG12 with Number 60027.

Detailed explanation-2: -A total of 280 WAG-12B have been built at Electric Locomotive Factory, Madhepura, Bihar, India. With a power output of 12, 000 hp, the WAG 12 is twice as powerful as its immediate predecessor, WAG 9, and is among the most powerful freight locomotives in the world.

Detailed explanation-3: -The first electric train ran in India with the inauguration of services between Bombay VT and Kurla Harbour on 3rd Feb 1925 on ex-GIP Railway system. The section was electrified on 1500 Volt DC.
