Detailed explanation-1: -Gujarat government has announced to set up India’s first Lithium refinery which will process Lithium ore to produce battery-grade material. Manikaran Power Limited, one of the country’s largest power trading and renewable energy company will be investing over Rs 1, 000 crore to set up this refinery.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Rajeev Chandrasekhar, will inaugurate India’s first lithium cell manufacturing facility at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, tomorrow, according to a government notification on September 15.

Detailed explanation-3: -Manikaran Lithium Private Limited, an arm of New Delhi-headquartered power trading company Manikaran Power Limited, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Gujarat to set up India’s first lithium refinery in the State.
