Detailed explanation-3: -Approved in July last year under the CAMPA scheme by the Research Advisory Committee of Uttarakhand Forest Department, the moss garden, the first in the country, was inaugurated on Friday by renowned water conservation activist Rajendra Singh, Chief Conservator of Forest Sanjiv Chaturvedi said.

Detailed explanation-4: -In Himalayas, Northeast and Peninsular India and in Andaman & Nicobar Islands the bryophytes are rich in diversity and well represented due to prevailing of high rainfall and humidity. Two genera and 168 species of liverworts, 19 species of hornworts and 547 species of mosses are endemic to India.

But on the other hand, Moss not only grows in these sites but also absorbs the toxins and makes the soil clean so other plants can also grow there easily.
