Detailed explanation-1: -In 1965 it has been renamed as “Railway Protection Special Force”. In 1966 RPF has been given legal powers for better protection of Railway property by enacting Railway Property (Unlawful Possession.)

Detailed explanation-2: -Railway Protection Force (RPF) is one of the security forces of India. It is tasked with protecting property and passengers of the Indian Railways. It is the only Central Armed Police Force(CAPF) with powers similar to regular state police forces.

Detailed explanation-3: -Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) is a Group -A Central Service of the Government of India and the youngest of all the Group ‘A’ Organized Services on Indian Railways. It was constituted in 1976 and the first direct recruitment through the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC, was in 1980.

Detailed explanation-4: -Security. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is an ‘Armed Force of the Union’ constituted under the RPF Act, 1957 for better protection and security of railway property, passenger areas, passengers and matters connected therewith.
