Detailed explanation-1: -On the eve of New Year’s day, Indian Railways announced a hike in passenger fare across its network effective from January 1, 2020, first fare hike in last five years. Ordinary non-AC, non-suburban fares hiked by 1 paise per km of journey.

Detailed explanation-2: -Delhi, 6th October 2022: The Railways have increased the fare of all classes by giving superfast status to 130 Mail-Express trains across the country.

Detailed explanation-3: -Railways has increased the fare by Rs 75 per passenger in AC-1 and Executive class of trains, Rs 45 in AC-2 and AC-3 chair car and Rs 30 per passenger in Sleeper class of trains. Passengers will have to pay an additional PNR i.e. Rs 450 in AC-1, 270 in AC-2 and AC-3 and Rs 180 in Sleeper for booking 6 passengers.

Detailed explanation-4: -Opening day booking:(120th day in advance, excluding the date of journey) will be available only after 8 AM. Opening day means 120 days in advance of the date of journey (journey date not to be included) from train originating station .

Detailed explanation-5: -In south the first line was opened on Ist July, 1856 by the Madras Railway Company. It ran between Vyasarpadi Jeeva Nilayam (Veyasarpandy) and Walajah Road (Arcot), a distance of 63 miles. In the North a length of 119 miles of line was laid from Allahabad to Kanpur on 3rd March 1859.
