Detailed explanation-2: -The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. A functional commission of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), it was established by ECOSOC resolution 11(II) of 21 June 1946.

Detailed explanation-3: -In 1946 the Commission on the Status of Women was established to promote the advancement of women throughout the world. The Commission met for the first time at Lake Success, New York, in February 1947.

Detailed explanation-4: -The first world conference on the status of women was convened in Mexico City, Mexico to coincide with the 1975 International Women’s Year, observed to remind the international community that discrimination against women continued to be a persistent problem in much of the world.

Detailed explanation-5: -The sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 6 to 17 March 2023 and will consider the priority theme of, “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls".
