Detailed explanation-1: -The Army Medical Corps came into existence as a homogeneous corps of officers and men on the pattern of the Royal Army Medical Corps on 03 Apr 1943 by the amalgamation of the Indian Medical Service, the Indian Medical Department and the Indian Hospital Corps.

Detailed explanation-2: -The 73rd Raising Day of Territorial Army was celebrated across the country on 09 Oct 2022 to commemorate its raising by the first Governor General Shri C Rajagopalachari on this day in 1949.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Indian Army celebrated 258th Raising Day of Army Medical Corps on 3 April 2022. The Corps has the motto of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” meaning “Let all be free from disease and disability”.

Detailed explanation-4: -On 08 Dec 1950, the President of India accorded sanction to the Corps to use the National Emblem in the ASC badge and wear the red lanyard on the right shoulder as a recognition of its services. On 08 Dec 1952 the first Corps Day was celebrated and that day has remained our Corps Day ever since.
