Detailed explanation-1: -For the academic year 2021-22, the students in 2nd and 7th standard will be mandated to study Marathi followed by 3rd and 8th stranded in 2022-23, 4th and 9th stranded in 2023-24 and 5th and 10th standard students will be mandated to study in 2024-25.

Detailed explanation-2: -As per the GR, Marathi will be a compulsory subject taught in all schools including the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) as well as applicable to IB and NIOS too.

Detailed explanation-4: -Maharashtra culture minister Subhash Desai who introduced the bill in the assembly on Thursday said the Maharashtra Official Languages Act, 1964 did not make the use of Marathi mandatory for the local authorities.
