Detailed explanation-1: -Source - PIB. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday morning launched a new LTC cash voucher scheme with an aim to boost consumer spending across categories. The FM also announced Special Festival Advance Scheme while announcing new relief measures on the economic front.

Detailed explanation-2: -This scheme was announced to boost consumer demand and to provide tax benefit to individuals who are unable to claim the usual LTC tax benefit due to Covid-related travel restrictions. The LTC Cash Voucher scheme aims to provide other expenditure options to the employees to avail the benefits.

Detailed explanation-3: -Under the scheme, the eligible central government employees get reimbursement of tickets for to and fro journeys, besides paid leave, when they avail LTC. Not only this, those government employees who are not eligible for air travel have also been allowed to travel by air to these states.

Detailed explanation-4: -LTC cash voucher scheme has been launched in order to boost consumer demand. The ministry has also made it clear that on purchase of goods like cars, employees are required to submit a self-attested photocopy of bills instead of original bills in order to avail the benefit.

Detailed explanation-5: -Bills of goods and services with GST of ₹12% or above can be claimed under the scheme. The payment for the goods/services is mandatorily required to be made through a digital mode.
